#100 Lenna - Vabaduselauluke

Celebration day! It's Estonian 96th Independence Day and my blog's #100 post, yay! What an elderly blog!

I definitely wanted to share something Estonian today, since I have done it so regrettably few here. Lenna's album "Teine" ("Second") got an award "the album of the year" in Estonian Music Awards 2014. Many musicians already commended this album already before it received the prize, yet I still didn't pay so much attention to it.

"Vabaduselauluke" ("Song of freedom") is a folk-country-style tune (not very typical for Lenna), that has an enthralling melody. One Estonian journalist just tweeted today about the music that usually plays among our media on our Independence Day: Somehow it's believed that an average estonian would like to listen to depressing music all day long at the birthday of his homeland. (No! :<) Cheer up!

#99 Active Child - Takes Me Back (Until The End Of Time Edit)

Not originally his music, yet edit of posthumus 2Pac releases.
When I heard this song for the first time, it sounded like someone had mixed Phil Collins good old music, hahaa! Would have never said 2pac (since his music was & is quite strange for me).

[As far as I understood, this edit is not released anyhow than at his soundcloud... Correct me if I'm wrong]

#98 Shearwater - Animal Life

This artist &song was recorded in my smartphone's notepad and stayed there for a while. I listened this song and left it behind, since it didn't catch my attention after second time anymore; didn't erase the notes from my mobile, though. I came back to this tune today and here I am - es gefällt mir wieder!

#95 Jack Garratt - I Couldn't Want You Anyway

Jack Garratt totally reminds me one of Estonian comedians (Ott Sepp) when he happens to have beard.
All that’s certain: It’s a beautiful piece of music.

#81 Kerli - Love Me Or Leave Me

On of the most successful Estonian artist atm - Kerli - just performed on Estonian Music Awards (EMA) show last weekend. Also currrent song, that I hadn't heard about before, was included in  her show.

All these love affairs, where no one cares enough for me
So give me your everything or give me nothing ever.

At the age of 18, after growing up in Estonia and living 2 years in Sweden, Kerli moved to the United States where she continued to perform and write songs, ultimately getting an audition with L.A. Reid, who signed her to Island Def Jam Music Group in 2006.

I'll pretend I'm fine, but I'm about to crack

Two songs which were co-written by Kerli for Utopia, "Skyscraper" and "I Feel Immortal", were later recorded by artists Demi Lovato and Tarja Turunen respectively.

Love me or leave me or quit me or keep me

#78 The Frames - Seven Day Mile

Thanks to one of my best friends for posting a picture to facebook, with a title: Making rye-bread-crackers with ... and listening The Frames. Since I generally trust her taste, I had to find out what kind of music is this band playing. The Frames are led by Glan Hansard... started their Biography. And I was sold.
