-Why?
Well, that's embarrassing. In previous post, I mentioned about a live concert I was going to. Don't ask me why I didn't listen to all the four performers properly before heading there. Where the hell (in the blackout) have I been living in so far, hallo? Johannes Oerding exists since ages and I just accidentally went to his concert. Such things should happen on purpose, not by chance. I just counted over - I asked 12 people to come with me to this free event, but none of them finally made it (due to work, birthday party, different music taste, parents visiting and bla bli blu), so I ended up going alone, but boys and girls! You just missed brilliant concert! Since I had clear flashbacks from last week's concerts at Karneval der Kulturen, where the musicians on stage were talking to sound engineer in sign language nearly more than orally to audience and where the lightning was so bloody awful that I wanted to poke my own eyes out, I was even double more satisfied with the sound and lights figuration this time (Alright, the sky filter from Mother Nature was also doing its work properly in front of O2 World this evening :-). Anyway, it's not actually what I wanted to talk about.
I wasn't able to sing along almost any songs decently, but the energy from stage was so seductive, though, that only a blind and deaf wouldn't feel the vibe, hihi :-) In particular, I like when an artist/band goes offhandedly "out of the box", I mean whether it is something from improvising with your own "muscle-memory" songs til playing a complete song down in the middle of the audience - like it happened today. I am actually personally (who cares?) extremely sorry for all the musicians, that I am photographing these days, since I have read articles and interviews with some players, who deeply deprecate this eternal recording: are you people coming to concert to listen or to take photos/film? One the other hand, I am trying to squeeze out the best shots from my half-broken camera while standing in the audience area, just to build up my discreet portfolio :/ But seeing all those people just starring at the screens of their cell phone made me feel a combo of sickness, anger and sorry.
Back to the topic vol 2: Why are good things named Johannes again and coming (by choice) from Hamburg again? Oh, my bittersweet Hamburg. After couple of songs, I had a little throwback moments to the music of Revolverheld, and surprise! Even last.fm tells "very high similarity" between those two artists :-) Yet me, the half-German speaker, understood the story from Asia, in which basis was a song with following lyrics "Don't dance, don't move, don't shower; then one day you will get back your power". Excuse me, but the singer's skills in imitating (plus mimic the sound of trumpet and beatboxing) were outstanding :D My inner-teenager had to pick up the autograph card after the show. While waiting in a line, I heard two staff members talking behind my back: "In this case, I am happy to have a girlfriend" said one of them.
I chose to share this particular song, just because it was one of the earworms :-) I only wish the dude behind keyboards were smiling, at least once. Briefly. A little.
(Sorry for the epos, here come the pics and
Punkt.)
